Changes on the horizon for Hill City Sports
After a month long hiatus, a few heavy work weeks at my day job and a “Derecho”, I am writing our 200th post and could not be happier. In all honesty, reaching 200 is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but it is a milestone nonetheless.
Since the first post, Hill City Sports has made it a mission to cover sporting news that may go unheard. Whether it’s at the youth, club, high school, collegiate or professional level, we have strived to bring a different point of view to athletics in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas.
This past spring, we reached heights that I thought were only possible when Randolph and Lynchburg varsity soccer met on the pitch. After receiving our largest amount of visitors ever this past April, it was made evident that HCS needs a change.
What better time to announce a transformation than with our 200th article?
I can’t think of one, so here it is. It is my pleasure to announce that later this summer, while parents and students slice through store aisles for bargain back to school sales, Hill City Sports will be undergoing a facelift, if you will, in order to better serve the people we care most about, our visitors.
I don’t want to give anything away just yet, but let’s just say it will be game changing. Not to be cliché and play off of a sports innuendo, but there’s no other way to describe it.
With changes on the horizon, I felt there was no better time to thank everyone who has submitted an article, idea, multimedia or just visited. So without further ado, thank you. The fact that thousands have visited a site with no outside advertising beyond social media is pretty remarkable.
So once again, thank you. Keep visiting, keep submitting ideas, keep spreading the word, and of course, keep supporting Lynchburg athletics and recreation of all levels and talents.
